Weekend in Kirkland

Will and I went up to Kirkland this past weekend to hangout with my sisters and mom.  Keturah and Mom were at Ikea (which is about halfway between their house and ours) and decided to swing down, sweep us up and take us home.  :)  We were happy to oblige.

On Saturday, Mom had an awards ceremony at her work, Harbinger Group.  She was one of the few people that got recognized for her achievements...way to go Mom!!  We got to meet her co-workers and learn more about the company.  The best part of the whole thing, was eating yummy Indian food.

The rest of the weekend was spent hanging out with my sisters and Will playing with Parker and Clark.  The weather was beautiful so much of our time was spent playing in the yard.  On Monday it was even nice enough for them to play in the kiddie pool! :) He loves them so much.  If Will is crying or upset about something, all he has to do is just look at Parker or Clark, and he forgets being sad.  It's so cute!  Parker is good at being very patient with Will and keeping him entertained.  Clark loves to hold him and give him kisses.  The boys keep asking questions like, "Does he talk yet?" and "Did he grow?"  And both Parker and Clark always refer to Will as "babywill."  :)  I love that we live out here now so the boys can be close to their cousin.  Here are pictures from our weekend. Enjoy!

So proud of my momma!! (Will was almost falling asleep)

The pool is a little too cold for Will

Been a long time...

I really need to get on cue with this blogging business.  I'm not sure who follows our blog (I'm hoping there's someone out there who does!) but I'm really going to try to be better about keeping a weekly update.

Will is now 10 months.  I can hardly believe that he's almost 1 and I can only imagine how much faster he'll continue to grow.  He's doing so much moving now; crawling, standing, walking along the edge of the couch and he still loves bouncing.  He no longer uses his bouncy horse, but rather he perches up on his knees and bounces up and down.  It's so cute!

About 4 weeks ago, we began letting him cry himself to sleep, so that he didn't require to be nursed or rocked to sleep.  What a process!  Of course it's always SO hard to listen to your baby cry and cry, but we were strong!  After a week, it clicked and he was "sleeping like a baby."  :) Now he goes down at 7pm for bed and wakes up at about 8:30am.  It's wonderful.

He's also got 4 teeth, (2 on bottom, 2 on top) and he eats like a horse.  His favorite things to eat are pears, strawberries, blueberry oatmeal and cheesies (whole wheat tortilla with a little cheese). I swear this kid eats as much as I do.  At 10m he weighs 25-26 lbs. He's a growing (and growing and growing) boy!

We've also decided to switch Will to cloth diapers.  We found out that there are MANY different types of cloth diapers available out there.  After asking friends who use cloth and researching online we chose all in one pocket diapers called "happy heinys." After working out the kinks they seem to be working quite well and they're pretty darn adorable, too.  It's been about 5 weeks since we started...I'd say we've adjusted quite well.  It's not nearly as disgusting as I thought...and really not that much extra work.  Plus it's a great way to save money and the environment!
