+one

The plus sign. It means so many different things. When we are kids we learn the ever so important one + one is two. Fast forward to middle school when that + follows a letter grade and it makes the test you just took seem not so scary and gives you a proud sense of accomplishment. In college we learn that the + is .25 points of a letter grade and its importance grows because that little + helps to keep you keep your academic scholarship.

the + isn't just about numbers. It also means you're not so lonely when you get to bring a +one to a wedding which saves you the embarrassment of leaving the dance floor the moment the dj starts a slow song. + signs are on batteries....uhhh....that's important.

So where am I going with all this + talk? Well if you haven't guessed already then let me just tell you....i took a test recently...and i scored a +. Meaning, soon we will be +one.

Which is "positively" surprising, but ever so exciting. :) (and yes, I AM that cheesetastic.) I'm at about 11 weeks and my belly is really poking out so I can't keep it a secret anymore. Due date is early October. Soon we will have three kids, three years and under. It will be crazy fun. :)

kitchen update

We are back in NE. We came back last week and had hoped to come home to a new kitchen, but of course like any home improvement project it is taking twice as long as what we thought it would. I am still in denial. I really thought we'd be coming home to a finished kitchen. Our contractor worked really hard and got a lot done but we're waiting on the inspector to come by and make sure everything is good to go. Then our guy can re-insulate and drywall and really get it moving along.

I'm getting anxious. and overwhelmed. I'm thankful we don't have to live in the mess and can retreat to the grandparents house until it's done enough for us to go home. Right now our house looks CrAzY. seriously crazy. The kitchen is stripped bare just studs and floor joists, the fridge and stove are in the dining room. The dining table is in the living room. There are tools everywhere. and dust. dust dust dust. I guess I thought the mess would be contained to the kitchen...I didn't realize it would overtake the whole house. I have to keep reminding myself that these things take time and waiting another month isn't really that long for a complete kitchen overhaul. I was am nieve to think this could all get done in 50 days. stop laughing. I really did think it would get done. silly me.

Soon we will be enjoying our new kitchen. and soon I will go take better pics of it to share. :)

this was taken on our contractor's cell...I'll update soon.

{ cousins }

Will is getting plenty of quality time with his cousins. Since we are going to be in Seattle for so long, it's almost like they will be brothers for two months. And they get along like brothers....sometimes cuddling and hugging and the next second one is hitting and one is crying....and right now is mostly Will who picks on his four year old cousin Clark. :(

Will is also crazy protective of Anna Grace and when Clark plays with her Will runs over and screams: "be careful wit da baybee!" and then he hits/pushes/pinches him. :( But there are many sweet moments, like when the older boys get home from school and Will is waiting at the door and can't wait to give them a squeeze and gleefully squeals: "you're home!" :)

Playing some crazy game they made up in which they get trapped in tomato plant cages. ?!
